Sally’s Hairdressers, one of the first children’s hairdressers to open in London, was established in 2006 and has since grown to be a key part of the Northcote Road community.
Sally has been cutting hair since 1977 and has been dedicated to children’s hairdressing in London since 1985. Over this time she has honed her hairdressing skills and can provide an excellent cut for children of all ages, from baby’s first haircut to those in their late teens.
There are DVDs to watch, toys to play with, and Sally is always happy to chatter away to any parents or siblings that come along. She is also well-practiced in working with children with special needs, who often find it extremely difficult to have their hair cut.

Haircuts for children
It is Sally’s friendly demeanour and the lovely, relaxed atmosphere of what has been described as her ‘tardis-like’ shop, that keep customers returning again and again. Her no-gimmicks approach is the perfect way to introduce children to having their hair cut, and enables them to progress towards the sometimes intimidating environment of an adult salon with comfort and ease.
Nestled in a perfect location on Northcote Road, Battersea, you will be able to shop and dine out. The local train stations are Clapham Junction and Wandsworth Common, and various bus routes are available. Sally has clients that move from London and still come back! Read some of her testimonials.
Baby’s First Haircut
I have plenty of experience cutting small children’s hair and I’m more than happy to provide your baby’s first haircut. There are no guidelines on how old a baby should be for their first haircut, as long as they have enough hair to cut. First Haircut Certificates are available as a keepsake or a lock of hair can be retained. Please note: I do not offer a ‘head shaving’ service for babies.
Haircuts for children with Special Needs
Having been a hairdresser since 1977, I have cut lots of Special Needs Children’s hair during this time. I would like to welcome parents and carers of children with disabilities or learning difficulties as I know it can be very challenging and distressing for both parent and child.
Allied to my experience in cutting hair, I hold a Teaching Assistant Certificate which I have as a result of helping and supporting children with learning difficulties.
The haircutting experience can be distressing for some children, which is why Sally’s salon provides a calm environment where you can rest assured your child will benefit from the relaxed atmosphere.
Sally’s is dog friendly
At Sally’s we are happy for you to bring along your dog if it makes attending your appointment easier. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a haircut for your dog!
